Can you Pack for a Purpose? Would you like to see something of the future of Costa Rica?  Kids are our future - think about packing an old duffel with an unused laptop, a few books or supplies - ask us about visiting our local primary school (Escuela Tuetal Sur) and see how it all comes together in this Costa Rican village.

In our "let's do a little for the future of our planet" department - maybe you'd like to do a little for children's literacy in Costa Rica? Reading materials are impossible to find and are very expensive here. Translation - "the kids have literally no books". 

Most schools here have NO library.  Maybe you have access to school books (best are reference books, Spanish or English, learning aids/flash cards and the like for kindergarten etc . . . ages 4 to 14).

Do you have an old laptop sitting in a closet gathering dust "just in case you need it"?  Consider bringing it with you for a child or teacher in the barrio to use at the school.  We'd be happy to "clean it of any data" before it is delivered.

These donations will go directly to the Escuela Tuetal Sur (local public primary school) close to the hotel or to the Escuela Poasito near Poas Volcano. 

You will be most welcomed at either school if you'd like to deliver some books or a used laptop in person - they will be very happy to see you and show you 2 extraordinary schools!  1 book, 10 books - everything counts here. If you are not a guest at the Pura Vida, bring a bag labeled "Donation Escuela Tuetal Sur - taxis aeropuerto deliver to Berni c/o Pura Vida Hotel, Tuetal Sur Phone 2430-2929 pago par voucher", as you exit the terminal at SJO hand it only to a driver with a shirt labeled "Taxis Aeropuerto" and we will donate the taxi fare.

Recently Ca'lita found us on Pack for a Purpose and, though she wasn't a guest, had a day spare to help near the SJO airport so we hooked her up with our school.
